Windy Conditions!!

Hi all, The wind has been rough this week!! Fishin has been slow but the weather is on the up turn towards the week end, and as we go into the New moon phase fishin will be great!!! Alot of fish was being caught before this front. Check out our recommened Guides reports!! Bassbusters.com and ImaginationBassin.com. Hello friends - My guest Dudley and Rick came for a full day of Garcia bassin. The winds had picked up so we opted for Garcia instead of the Stickmarsh. It was a good decision. Both anglers stayed busy reeling in bass most of the day. There were only two short periods where the bass never bit. Overall a great day. Hello Friends - Mike and his son Dan returned for another morning of bass catching! The action was fast and furious as bass after bass blew up on there baits. After several hours the bite slowed but not before they ran out of bait and caught the above pictured bass. The fishing is getting right in both reservoirs. Stickmarsh/farm13 is low on water but high on action right now. Garcia is in perfect condition with an excellent bite. They liked the result's so well they booked another day. The bite was good with many bass caught each hour. Dan is pictured with his largest of the day. Looks like we have finally turned the corner and the reservoir has come to life. Stickmarsh trophy bass!Trophy Bass in Garcia!Hello friends - As you can see from the pictures both reservoirs hold Trophy bass! The truth is that the Stickmarsh compound holds more. Garcia is now consistently out producing the Stickmarsh on a day to day basis for catching bass due to the condition of the lake water in the Stickmarsh. The Stickmarsh still holds tons of bass but wind can really murk up the water this year leaving you with just a small area with clearer water to fish thus lowering your odds at getting on the bass. Garcia has perfect water conditions and the winds have little effect. Those Guides that have spent the time to learn to shiner fish it have been banging some very nice quality bass with some trophy bass mixed in. It is truly been a season of big bass in Garcia. Garcia is 70% covered with a variety of plant life. Hydrilla and Lilly pads dominate. Artificial fished in and very close to the cover produce plenty of bass year round. Now if you worm and spinnerbait or chug the open water or just the perimeter you just might think there is nothing there. Flippers love Garcia. They fish the thick stuff and get results. The stickmarsh has the back lot section which is usually 30% covered with vegetation. Not much elsewhere in or around the lake. Flipping is not the preferred way to fish in there. Garcia the bass like shiners, worms , flukes , rattle traps and craws. The Stickmarsh is known for senko's , traps and shiners. Overall there is no comparison as to which lake is more scenic. Garcia wins hands down. The stickmash and Garcia have one bathroom each for men and women. The difference is Garcia's is less then 7 minutes from anywhere on the lake and is excellent for women and kids. The stickmarsh bathroom can be much father away and with the lake fishing so small you may not want to give up your spot to go. The spillway is on the far south end of the lake and most women and children might not be willing to go on the bank. Both reservoirs are worth a try. Indian River County is still the place to be for Trophy bass fishing! Stop in at the Stickmarsh Bait and Tackle and see Tina for all the current updates and supplies. CandyCandy Again!Candy and FrancesHello friends - Both Candy and Frances caught some nice bass on there two half a day trips. Today Candy Olsen took the title The Best I've Ever seen . She out fished everyone aboard catching most of the bass. I had a great time fishing with both of you. Please come again and entertain me some more. On this morning Frances was fishing for a lunker bass. Three hours into her hunt the Magic happened as she hooked a very large bass just before we left. She will have to return again to catch that bass as the lunker won the battle but not before everyone got a look at her. What a bass! Next time Frances... Hello Friends - Meet Frances. She is by far the best fisher person I have ever seen. No kidding. She flat out kicked butt today. Yes, there were two other people on board today but Frances cleaned house. This 6lb bass was her largest but not the only one. She single handedly brought enough bass over the rails to make the day. Time after time she did everything right and hooked bass after bass. It was a four hour Frances show and we totally enjoyed every moment. Tomorrow everyone else aboard will have to catch up. Bill catches a Trophy Bass in Garcia Reservoir! Hello friends - My guest had a blast catching Big bass in Garcia Reservoir. The three day trip included a 10 and 1/2 pound trophy bass with an 8 1/4 pounder, four bass just over 7 pounds, 3 bass at 6 lbs and numerous bass between 4 and 5 pounds. The overall numbers were low but the quality or size was excellent. All the anglers caught the largest bass of there lives and had a great time doing it. Thanks Frank, Bill , Dave , Dan , Gary and Ron for having me as your guide. Today I would categorize as a banner day, but rather than get lengthy in words, let me show you with pictures. She fell for a Lake Fork Tackle 10" worm in blue/black. Did I mention: 10" Lake Fork worm in blue/black. It just proves that if Don can catch two worthy of a picture than anyone could. Two baits used today: Senko - 5" in watermelon colors, and Lake Fork Tackle's 10" worm. If you landed next to wood you pretty much were catching a bass. They weren't in the heavy stuff like yesterday but it didn't take long to find them. Oh, and by the way, the bigger fish were caught further out in the lake on the south end of the Farm, as you can see by the pictures. Did I mention that we only fished a 1/2 day? Just think what you could do in a full day out here with us. See you on the water. I almost forgot - 32 was the count from "Bump the Stump" fishing. Submitted 4/4/06 by Scott & George Hit a stump, get a bump: perhaps the fish could be like the one in the picture below. When you pick a spot, pick a spot that's hot, not a spot that's not. When you hire a guide don't be afraid to ask: do you know where the fish reside? We know because we put in the time to know. When we don't have clients were out there fishing! The bass just do not take a day off and they tend to move around a bit. Several days of nice weather have brought the Stick Marsh/Farm 13 back from catches that were up and down to those that the bass cooperate. Fifty eight cooperated today: that is fifty eight made it to the boat. In the heavy timber that we were fishing probably half as many found their way free by wrapping around stumps, diving into roots, or using branches to avoid meeting us face to face. We used a combination of plastic baits from Lake Fork Tackle and Gary Yamamoto Senkos. They hit any color as long as it was dark. The key was wood, and the closer you got the more likely the hit. I don't think that we made more than few casts that landed right next to a stump or stickup that didn't produce a hit. Obviously we were casting to visible wood, and the Farm has plenty of that in the south end. We also had a few hit a frog, and baits that were jerked just below the surface. The top water bite is coming!!! If we wanted to make a full day of it I am sure that this could have been a one hundred plus fish day. When we decided to call it there was still no slow down in the bite. April is always a very strong month and with water levels dropping we expect this year to produce some banner catches. Submitted 4/3/06 by Scott & George Tim DeClaire and Dave from Melbourne, Florida joined me on the 1st. The weatherman said it was going to be great with light winds and warm temperatures. We started in the back lot, but with the dropping water levels we didn't spend very much time there. There are still fish there, but after running into several tussocks I decided to head south. We moved to the central south areas of the lake and that's where we finished out the day. Senkos weightless were the mainstay of the day and produced many fish from 2.5 to 8 pounds. The fish were holding in and around wood and proved to be quite active and aggressive if you put it anywhere near them. Tim scored with this pretty lady by tossing his Senko a couple of inches from a stump and letting it sit. This 8 pound gal came from a stump and hit the Senko before it reached bottom. Wood and Senkos were the ticket for the day. Senko colors don't matter all that much as long as they are dark. Working the area thoroughly is extremely important. We never left a pretty small area to have the day we had, and it was a good one. Yesterday was a day of relaxation but today we were right back at it with a day of exploration. We are working on a special area which we hope to announce soon. What we found today was bass after bass, with over forty up to 6 pounds in less than 3 hours of fishing!!! Thank you Tina
